Query: Price

I am looking for any information your library might have on my GG Grandparents :

James Berry PRICE – Son of Gerry David Price and Phoebe PUTNAM
born: 7 March 1851 in Cowetta County, Georgia died: 4 Aug 1921 in Wood County, Texas
and he married –

Ellen Catherine BANKS – daughter of Ezekiel M Banks and Thursa BENTON
born: 17 Oct 1853 in Cowetta County, Georgia
died: 24 July 1896 in Wood County, Texas

I know they are buried in the PRICE CEMETERY. I had heard there is a Price house (historical maybe)Any information on their family would be greatly appreciated. Obituaries, marriage, birth information..anything.

Their children were:
James Robert Price 1878 – 1879
Georgia Odella Price 1879 – 1879
Mittie Bartha Price – she is my Great Grandmother who married 21 Feb 1897 Belford Eldrige THOMPSON (Bud or B E) 6 March 1880 – 31 May 1951
Henry Virgle Price 1882 – 1885

As you will note, your inquiry was forwarded to me. I have discovered that Elder Blaylock was a pastor at one time at Clover Hill
Baptist Church
northeast of Quitman. The community has all but become a ghost community. There was a community nearby called Pleasant Grove and the church members at Clover Hill may have joined the church at Pleasant Grove.

The only record of marriages that I know of here in Wood County are the county records of which you mention. Also a check was made of cemetery records and we did not find either of your great grandparents being buried here in the county.

I am going to send this inquiry to the Wood County Genealogical Society as they might possibly have some information on the Thompson genealogical line.
